Our experienced portfolio managers make diversified investments, using a core/satellite approach across various markets and traditional and alternative asset classes. We pay special attention to the strategic and tactical asset allocation in line with the appropriate level of risk.

With Valartis Bank’s core/satellite method, the variety of asset classes and the specific investment themes give you a very detailed control of your portfolio’s risk/return parameters (see below).

In keeping with the fundamental philosophy of the core/satellite approach, we divide the individual investments in your customised portfolio into two categories:

• Core – Broadly diversified, index-oriented core investments, offering a basic return with sufficient security.
• Satellite – Selected investments that offer a higher potential return and add diversification through a low correlation to the core element – the aim is to outperform the market through active management.
