Valartis Bank AG originates from OZ Zürich Optionen und Futures AG, which was founded in 1988. This company was floated on the main stock exchanges in Zurich and Basel in 1993.
Valartis Bank AG has held a Swiss banking licence since 1997, initially under the name OZ Bankers AG.
Valartis Bank Switzerland, which was originally engaged in investment banking and asset management, has increasingly shifted its focus towards wealth management for high net worth private clients, following the merger in 2005 of the parent company OZ Holding AG with the operating companies of MCG Holding AG.
Since 2007, it has operated under the name ‘Valartis’ – a combination of the Latin words valere and artis meaning ‘The art of creating value.’
